The other two being 'Totally Fucked Up' (1993) and The Doom Generation (1995). The movie chronicles a day in the life of a group of hedonistic, sexually adventurous, drug taking L.A. teenagers. The sketchy plotline deals with themes of alienation, alien abduction, suicide, drug abuse and fame, as the group try to make sense of their tangled relationships and bizarre experiences. Described as '90210 on acid', Nowhere uses pop culture iconography, 90's style references, super saturated imagery and highly stylized but low budget visual effects to create a cult punk aesthetic. Araki also pulls in a cast of young 90's Hollywood talent such as James Duval, Nathan Bexton, Christina Applegate, Jeremy Jordan, Ryan Phillippe, Heather Graham, Denise Richards, Shannen Doherty, Rose McGowan, Devon Odessa, Mena Suvari and Rachel True.
Worth watching just for the valley girls' hairdos.
